Hope you are all doing fine!! This post I will give you a very simple but yummy fries!
Last Easter Lunch, we had some lovely guests came over. Besides the typical
Swedish food, we also had Icelandic smoked lamb, and of course some Indonesian too. I also served quite a lot of vegetable on the table. I think it is good to combine all those fatty food with light salad. Everyone was happy, but they were extra happy when I turned salad leftover into some Indonesian veggies fries. My sons loved them and had probably 6 each ha ha ha… The best way to have them eating vegetable!!
So, let’s begin with the recipe 🙂
1,5dl (app. 160grams) of corn
1 big carrot (shred)
app. 200gr cabbage(shred or slice thinly)
2 handfull of bean sprout
app. 15 cm leek (divide and slice thinly)
3 shallots (or half of an onion – slice thinly)
2 garlic (chop)
1 or 2 pinch of: cumin, white pepper, nutmeg and sugar
1-2 ts of ground coriander seed
2,5 dl(app.250 grams) flour (for gluten free, use potato flour, but you will be getting a little chewy consistent).
0,5 dl rice flour
Oil to fry
place all the shredded vegetable in a large bowl, pour all the spices, throw the eggs and blend everything with the flours. Form into some compact round(use your hands or with the help of two spoons), and then fry until you get the golden brown color.
That’s it! Easy right? You can dip the bakwan into sambal or any other sauce that you like!
